Playmobil sets limits on 'political' use of its plastic figures.

Blogger Nikos Papadopoulos uses Playmobil figures to express his views on the political and social issues he sees around him in Greece. But the toy's German manufacturer insists the plastic figures must not be used to make 'political statements'.

In one scene, a besuited plastic figure packs other plastic figures into a dumpster marked "You're fired". In another, an angry plastic priest lashes out at other plastic figures, only to pose next to a suited man in front of a TV camera while a homeless man sleeps on a park bench. Domestic violence is the theme in another photo.

If the context they've been placed is somewhat unusual, the plastic figures are immediately recognisable. They are the Playmobil characters so beloved of children. But in these photos, it's obvious that the figures are being put to satirical use, in play with the political, social and economic issues around us.
